Svoboda & Williams Ushered in the New Year in Its New Headquarters

11.01.2024

“In our first office on Benediktská Street, we all sat around a single table and could therefore immediately share daily tasks and strategic visions,” recalls Prokop Svoboda, owner of Svoboda & Williams. Over the course of almost two decades, its team of real estate experts grew to 120 employees, and teams were based in several offices, all in different parts of Prague. “We were therefore looking for space that would match the needs of the brand, the right premises for effective teamwork and allowing us to achieve a level of sustainability, one of the core tenets of our company,” explains Svoboda.

As part of its environmentally-friendly values, the company has made building a green infrastructure one of its serious priorities. “We renewed our fleet of cars last year and we’re gradually replacing our iconic Mini Coopers, which for years have been part of our brand identity, with electric cars,“ states Svoboda. “Energy consumption in our building on Na Zátorce Street will be partially covered by clean electricity generated by our photovoltaic panels starting in February,” he adds. Sustainability is not just a marketing ploy for Svoboda & Williams. The company currently collaborates with the Refugium environmental association, which focuses on the renewal of damaged ecosystems, as well as with other ecological organizations.

The SAD architectural studio was in charge of modifying the villa located in a prestigious area on the border of Dejvice and Bubeneč and surrounded by a nicely maintained garden. The architects restored the building's original 1930s elegance. “The villa had already been altered into offices, and as such didn’t require any major changes to the layout. We mostly focused on restoring the elegance of the interior and elevating its quality finishes,” relates Adam Jirkal. The architects of the interiors added solitary pieces custom-created over the years for Svoboda & Williams during our long-term collaboration. Work desks and original light fixtures were installed and a hanging artwork was added to the main reception. Its differently colored surfaces interact with designer Jitka Škopová’s textiles, visually unifying the various spaces.
